April 21, 2025 – inTEAM is proud to announce the launch of the GDSN Connect™ Search Hub, a major milestone providing free, nationwide access to the largest centralized database of GDSN-based K-12 product data for school nutrition professionals.
This powerful, “Google-like” tool enables users to search and explore the broadest collection of K-12 product information published directly by manufacturers via the Global Data Synchronization Network (GDSN). Records are continuously updated and further enriched with official data from federal, state, and local agencies to deliver a comprehensive, 360-degree product view. Key attributes include nutrient profiles, meal pattern credits, allergens, ingredients, food additives, USDA Foods values, and more.
The launch of the GDSN Connect Search Hub marks the culmination of eight years of cross-industry collaboration to establish a true “one-stop shop” for standardized K-12 product data. Adoption of GDSN standards has rapidly increased as operators, manufacturers, distributors, brokers, and state agencies shift toward more efficient and transparent supply chain communications.
Support for using the common language of GDSN has also come from organizations such as USDA, School Nutrition Association (SNA), Urban School Food Alliance, leading software companies, and the ACDA Processing Committee has fueled widespread adoption. With more than $1 billion in purchasing power, early adopters are leading the charge in modernizing K-12 procurement practices. By replacing outdated PDFs and inconsistent spec formats with real-time data using GTINs, districts and co-ops can evaluate vendor proposals more quickly based on clear product specifications.
GDSN Connect has also expanded partnerships with all major back-of-house software providers, enabling automated, electronic data integration across platforms. This significantly reduces manual entry errors and ensures compliance with evolving food service regulations.
To further promote the Search Hub, inTEAM has launched new data-sharing initiatives tailored to the needs of manufacturers, brokers, distributors, and state agencies. These programs not only encourage broad access to operators but also offer one click log in from third party websites. This opens brand visibility opportunities by promoting specific products in the Search Hub results, driving both awareness and lead generation.
